The fastest firkin in the forth valley

Carronade finished in 12 minutes

Saturday night and the festival is in full swing (almost literally) when disaster strikes.

It's 10.30, closing time is still half-an-hour away and disaster - The Last beer runs out!

But, having only once before run out of ale there is a contingency plan quickly put into action. A firkin of Carronade has been racked up just in case of such a disaster and quickly a lot of happier real ale enthusiasts.

Lightning does strike twice

Disaster again; it only last 12 minutes and it's not yet closing time (that's 70+ pints in just 12 minutes). That must be the fastest firkin ever!

Antonine to the rescue

But not to be beaten, or red-faced, in running out before the end (still 10 minutes to go) yet another contingency keg (this time Antonine Amber Ale from local brewery, Tryst) is racked and broached. It's bright but we're back in business.

And this time it lasts till the end. All in all a great night was had by all.
