17th Bo'ness Real Ale Festival 2017

Plans for this year's festival is well under way and pretty well done. The theme has been agreed and the glasses in production.

It only remains now to finalise what beers will be on the bar. That's generally left to about a month to go and the chosen brewers have their lists available. (More to come on that one.)

2016 was another successful festival

2016 proved to be another successful event with only a few beers lasting out to the 'bitter' end!

We like to think that after 16 years it is down to good planning and experience but we are not complacent having been caught out before! We always have a contingency plan and reserves just in case so there will be no need to panic on the night.

Blue Avenues

There will be the usual good selection of beers, some old favourites and some new to the festival, ciders and, of course, wines for the ladies not yet converted to the tastes, pleasures and delights of real ale.

Additionally, there will be a band on both nights, Blue Avenues, who play a varied selection of blues, folk and jazz and just about anything else you can think of.

We know they are good as we do our homework and have seen and heard them in both The Four Mary's in Linlithgow and our own local, the Corbie Inn.

Festival dates for your diary in 2017

It was stated last year that the first weekend in October was going to be the fixed date for the festival. But, on reflection and feedback from visitors, it seems that it clashes with the start of local school holidays.

This year the festival is being pulled back a week to the end of September to enable more of our visitors to attend.

So, for 2017 this year's dates are:-

Bo'ness Town Hall

Friday 29 September, 5pm till 11pm

Saturday 30 September, Noon till 11pm

We look forward to seeing you for either the first time or to welcome you back again, to enjoy some Beer Burgers, and Band.
